Welcome and congratulations on joining The Center for Children and Families team! Together we strive to promote safe, healthy environments for children and families through advocacy, counseling, education, and prevention. ​Starting a job can be both exciting and nerve-racking as you become acclimated to a new role and work environment. In order to ease this transition, we are committed to walking alongside you every step of the way! Let's start by going over what you can expect during orientation, and what steps you will need to complete before your first day on the job. Let's get started!

On orientation day you will be meeting with our Human Resources Manager to submit all proper documentation, review policies, complete trainings, and meet with the Program Director to sign your offer letter. This can take up to 2 hours. (Please note that the orientation day/time will be at the discretion of HR Manager/Program Director.)

In order to come prepared for orientation, the following steps will need to be completed beforehand:

Please contact your university to submit official transcript to:

Also have one transcript sent to yourself to bring with you on your first day. This will be needed to submit to DMH with your credentialing application. This copy needs to remain sealed.

  • Online Enrollment Website You will receive a welcome email that will include your User ID and Password to login and complete the new hire process.

The National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) is used to request a National Provider Identifier (NPI). This can be done online to create a new account and to register as an Individual Provider.

  • Your certification/licensee number if already PLPC or LPC respective licensure. ​
  • All clinicians must be registered with Licensure Board to work towards licensure as a requirement for employment. If you are not currently registered with the licensing board you will need to submit your application to the board prior to your start date and you will have 60 days to submit your approval information to HR. ​

All Clinicians who are not yet licensed are required to complete an application with MS Department of Mental Health to obtain Provisional Certified Mental Health Therapist certification. Application is $75 and must be complete during first week of employment. Verification of employment form will be done via HR, and your supervisor will complete supervision section of forms.

If you do not already have a CAQH profile, you will need to begin the process of creating one here. Please create a username and password. You will be given additional steps on how to proceed with this during orientation.

The Center for Children and Families conducts multiple background screenings, including a Department of Public Safety check, a National Sex Offender Registry check, a Child Protection check, and a DMV check. In order to complete these checks, we will first need your consent:
  • Please complete the Background Check Authorization Form and bring a signed copy on your first day. 
In addition to this authorization, you will also need to complete the steps below to initiate the MS Department of Public Safety screening: ​
  • Complete Background Check Form 
  • Have digital fingerprints made.
Bring your fingerprinting card (provided by us) and *$20 cash to: ​​

Clinton Police Department: 305 Monroe St, Clinton, MS 39050. 

You may call (601)924-5252 prior to arrival to ensure someone is there to complete the digital fingerprints. 
  • In order to submit your fingerprints for the background check with MS Dept of Public Safety, a *$32 money order is required. The mailing address and more detailed instructions are on the Background Check Form.

  • The Background Check Form must be notarized. Most banks will notarize and provide money orders. If not using your personal bank, please be prepared to pay *$10 to have the form notarized.
*NOTE: Please keep all receipts associated with employment expense for reimbursement. The only expense not reimbursed is the fee for board registration/licensure.
All offers of employment are contingent on successful background screenings.
